Get the support you and your pet deserve

Whether you are at the end of your tether with a serious behaviour problem, or you just need some training help, you are in the right place!

I am a fully insured and appropriately qualified Provisional Clinical Animal Behaviourist and trainer who fully understands the challenges living with dogs with behaviour problems or riding and handling difficult horses. I can assure you it doesn’t have to be that way!

Animal behaviour has progressed through research over the years and we now know more about what’s important to keep our four legged furry friends happy. This includes:

  • Positive relationships (with people and other animals)

  • Ethology - what is important for the species, are all their needs being met?

  • Good communication using positive techniques

  • Physical health and hormones play a huge role in behaviour

  • It’s all about emotions . Often behaviour problems stem from a negative emotional response which we have to get to the bottom of, we can’t change behaviour without addressing emotions

A modern approach…

Throughout this journey you will learn lots about your pet, their underlying emotions and be fully supported to make the necessary changes to improve things for them and you.

My programme follows the 3 step plan below which has a high success rate:

Stage 1: Reset and relax

Avoid all the triggers that cause the behaviour in the first place. Address any physical or hormonal problems if necessary

Stage 2: Build confidence and resilience

Help your animal learn some appropriate coping strategies to build resilience

Stage 3: Address Underlying Emotions

Through systematic desensitisation and counter conditioning, we can address those underlying emotions that your pet is struggling with.

Most dog insurers will pay for appropriate qualified behaviourist. They won’t cover training or equine behaviour unfortunately.
